PowerChute Network Shutdown

Overview

APC PowerChute Network Shutdown software works in conjunction with the APC UPS Network Management Card to provide graceful, unattended shutdown of multiple computer systems over a network. Its scalable architecture can support a virtually unlimited number of client systems. Easily configurable via a browser-based interface, customize command files can be run on each individual server in the event of an unattended shutdown.

Key Features

Compatibility
Server shutdown of N+1 UPS 
Supports up to three UPS units in a redundant configuration. All UPS units in a redundant configuration must be of the same model.

Protection
Operating System Shutdown 
Prevents possible data corruption by performing graceful, unattended operating system shutdown in the event of an extended power outage.

Shutdown Confirmation 
In extended outages, UPS proactively coordinates and confirms safe, complete shutdown of all systems before UPS turns off.

Secure communications 
Secured web access via HTTPS, as the default, ensures that communication between the device and the client interfaces cannot be interpreted.

Password Security 
User-selectable password protection prevents unauthorized access.

Authentication 
Control user privileges and access rights to protect IT assets from unauthorized individuals.
 
Manageability
Network-based shutdown 
Reduces cable clutter by eliminating the need to connect the UPS and protected servers via cables.

Run command file 
Run command file on shutdown sequence as well as start-up sequence.

Browser Accessible 
View the user interface with a browser. Provides quick access from anywhere on a secure network.

UPS Status Checking 
Continuously checks UPS status to verify current condition.
